The Lucky Lass

Before you come aboard, here is everything you need to know about The Lucky Lass. She is a 20 foot 1984 Shamrock, with a inboard straight shaft 3.94bt Cummins Diesel Engine. The Shamrock is built to handle almost anything the ocean can throw at it. With its deep keel it provides a more stable ride in oceanic conditions. It performs like a larger boat but in a smaller package. However, it doesn't mean that there won't be bumps and rocks as we make way.

With a diesel engine it optimizes fuel efficiency and dependability but there are a few minor draw backs with the occasional diesel exhaust smell and louder engine, but we have taken steps to combat these issues with sound installation in the engine compartment and a rocking blue tooth stereo system to play all your favorite tunes.

Lastly being that she is a smaller boat, she does allow for a more intimate experience with your captain and passengers. There is limited space available so our charters are designed for smaller groups of people such as family and friends. There is no bathroom on board so please plan ahead and be sure to use the restroom before your trip.

Captain Matt Ratoni

With a passion for fishing I never thought a career would be possible in 2020. Until unforeseen job loss and state closures caused by the pandemic, an unlikely opportunity presented itself. While things seemed hopeless a sign showed a new path. I spotted a 20% mariners learning systems promotional code to pursue a long forgotten dream. After completing all the necessary steps to become my own boss I would like to share my passion with others and allow them to catch the fish of their dreams.

We visit Captain Matt (our son) his beautiful wife Megan and our adorable grandson Gio at least once a year in North Shore Oahu. We were there in February 2020 right before all Hell broke loose with the Covid-19 pandemic. However, the pandemic had a silver lining for our family.

We have had many conversations about how Matthew (Captain Matt) has loved to fish ever since he was a little kid. He said one day he would love to share his passion with other’s and have a Charter Boat Fishing Business of his own.

We told him if he gets his Captains License we would help him finance his ambition to start his own Charter Company.

He started taking mariners courses after Hawaii was locked down and now has his Captain’s License.

Today he is able to take tourists as well as locals out to catch the fish of their dreams, enjoy whale watching or just enjoy a beautiful Hawaiian Sunset.

I moved to Hawaii the end of 2007. Throwing myself in a new environment with hopes of growing up and learning to take care of myself. I discovered a love for Hawaii and all it has to offer. I found myself developing in all aspects as I explored the Hawaiian islands and eventually meeting my husband. Becoming a mother and now starting a fishing charter business with my family. I have always been in the hospitality industry whether it be restaurant's/ bars, or the latest Turtle Bay Resort. I look forward to meeting you and answering all your questions in hopes to provide a memorable tour during your stay on Oahu.
